Hi.
Welcome to my blog. I’m a reporter at the San Antonio Express-News, where I cover the Eagle Ford Shale, a massive oil and gas field to the south of San Antonio. If you live in South Texas and haven’t heard of it, you’re watching too much TV.
I grew up in Houston, got a journalism degree at the University of Texas at Austin and have since written a few thousand newspaper stories at papers across the country. I’m also known to write book reviews on occassion.
I love writing, reading, running exceedingly slow and the quiet time after the kids finally fall asleep. I wish I had more time for travel, hiking, surfing, bad reality television, gardening and sitting on my butt drinking Earl Gray tea. I have two cute children and an old house in perpetual renovation.
This blog will be about all of that.

Thanks for joining me.

Hello Jennifer:
One of your articles was published on the front page of the Midland Reporter Telegram yesterday, 1/11/2013. I want to e-mail the article to a friend of mine in Denver, CO. Is the article available online or could you e-mail it to me? Great article and thank you.

Hi Tim. Thanks for your message. I’m not sure exactly which story Midland used, but it’s always nice to hear that stories travel. I did one this week about a TCU Energy Institute presentation, and that’s probably the one you saw. It had a quote about West Texas being like the “Eagle Ford on steroids.” http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/article/Eagle-Ford-West-Texas-shales-still-in-early-stage-4180979.php
This one ran today and is about personal income levels rising in the Eagle Ford: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/energy/article/Eagle-Ford-gives-region-a-shot-in-the-wallet-4187538.php
But I bet Midland used the first story.
Cheers.
